Vance P. Freeman

Mr. Freeman’s practice focuses on complex oil and gas litigation and oil and gas related transactions. He has litigated class actions brought by royalty owners, landowner disputes, complex accounting cases, joint operating disputes, and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Freeman has litigated cases across the State of Texas and in California, New York, Florida, and Louisiana. Mr. Freeman has also represented energy clients in the acquisition and divestiture of assets, drafting and negotiating leases, service contracts, and joint operating agreements. Mr. Freeman has helped Shore Freeman Mills’s E&P and midstream clients with over $400 million of oil and gas related transactions in 2007. Mr. Freeman frequently speaks on oil and gas law.

Prior Associations
Mr. Freeman began his legal career at the litigation boutique Holm Bambace & McCabe, LLP in Houston where he focused on a wide range of commercial litigation matters. He then practiced at Ohashi & Horn, LLP in Dallas where he counseled Japanese and Asian companies in a wide variety of commercial disputes and patent litigation matters.
Having grown up in Longview, Texas in an oil and gas family, Mr. Freeman returned to East Texas in 2006 to practice law with his longtime friend Kenneth Shore after the two practiced together in Dallas.
Mr. Freeman is married to Meg B. Freeman, and they have four children.
